Broadening Participation of Women in Civil Engineering and Heavy Civil Construction

As a Hispanic female in civil engineering and heavy civil construction, Dr. Calahorra-Jimenez is interested in helping female students to pursue careers in this area. Currently, Dr. Calahorra-Jimenez is exploring the following topics with faculty and students females from different backgrounds:

  • Motivations, Transition experiences, intentions
  • Recruitment and Retention Procedures to attract more women
  • Exploring intersectionality
